My Sonnets to Love series chronicles the journey of bliss with my lover from its somewhat rocky beginning through its ongoing development and fulfillment. Sonnet #4 speaks to a moment of clarity and almost ineffable joy when I knew for certain that we would be together forever.
Sonnet to Love

Elusive fairy tales true to Beauty run,
Multicolored pulses, the thoughts, dancing
A light pattern with points spun —
Like a jewel — angels bring.
Much debated heaven, suddenly I know your light
Beam —— eyes wide open all the angles meet.
The space surrounding frames like the night
A star for you, Love, dazzling white heat.
What question now of who and what be wrung
From darkness laced with light sparks fanning
A hot prism, and joy, like a flock of summer birds in flight,
Bursts when you come bliss tumbling?
The hum, a hymn I sing fills, overflowing runs;
In red amazement weaves, as light in darkness stuns.

Poet's Note on Sonnet #8
Sonnet #8, from my Sonnets to Love series, speaks to a time of confused priorities and vague misgivings about my choices and the direction of my life. Suddenly, one afternoon, with a glance that pierced through my darkness and words that echoed my thoughts, my lover appeared as my own true self and the priceless jewel of my existence -- all doubts dissolved in the power and beauty of oneness and unconditional love.

Soft golden impulses at times elude
Perception’s thresholds old and choked by fears
As deep impressions masquerade as Truth,
And baffled by the lies, I rue the years.
When suddenly you speak my mind and gazing
Into your white light, though blind, I’m stunned
As outlines disappear in shimmering waves,
And separate chords reverberate as one.
Shocked and healed and humbled at your call,
Resistant to all but the chant of the love beats—
The love beats in free fall—
Flung and folded, soothing, sizzling heat’s
Embrace, a melting helix, rose and gold
Entwined all senses, senseless, meek and bold.
